Iguana En Fuego - Ultra Hot Pepper Sauce
What the bottle says... So our boy Iggy was on a tear one night in the test kitchen when the sprinkler system went off in a deluge. He was under strict instructions once again not to troll thru our desk drwaers (who knows what he'd find) when he finds my secret stash of pepper extract. We had historically frowned on using the stuff to enhance the heat factor of our 'all killer-no filler' sauces, but he was on a mission and it involved lots of heat. But in support of the malevolent little guy he was onto something that smelled pretty damn potent, so we cleared the air and let him run with it. And I gott aadmit, this time iggy done good.
It's supa freakin' hot. This searing blend takes it up several notches with a bit of hot pepper extract that Iggy snuck into the batch!
What we say... You've gotta love the Iguana range of sauces for the stories on the bottles alone let alone the delicious all-natural sauces inside. This is a real departure, with the addition of pepper extract to give you a whole lot of bang for your buck, but it does not dissapoinrt on flavour and still conveys the flavours of the fresh ingredients and habanero very well. Slightly sweet and fruity this sauce is great with anything, although our recommendation is as a killer accompaniement for grilled swordfish steak, with a squeeze of lime and some fresh coriander...
