What we say...
Winner of the 2000 Scovie awards, this is one of the best Peri Peri based sauces around. Delicious when used as a flavouring ingredient in marinades, sauces and soups, we especially love adding it to casseroles and stews.

I bought a brand new bottle, shook it and added it to chicken. It was not hot. The first ingredients listed are "Tomato, water, onion, sugar, salt, roasted garlic, pepper spices". This is an indication of the flavour, very tomato-y, watery, sweet with an onion and garlic flavour. I enjoy Nandos peri-peri and their 'hot' sauce is very spicy, their extra hot and xx hot are intense and enjoyable. I was expecting at least a nandos hot from this and was let down.

The 2/5 pepper rating is about right for this sauce, whilst lacking punch it more than makes up for it in flavour, with the roasted tomato and roasted garlic adding a pleasant depth.
